Technical and commercial Project manager

Alpinter has been active in the humanitarian sector for over 30 years, as a developer of tents and other Core Relief Items. Alpinter is part of the ARS group (Alpinter Relief Supplies).

In 2019, ARS will develop a new group of activities in the commercial tent and camping business. For these commercial activities, ARS integrated the companies Alpino and Canopy and will set up a 3rd new brand for glamping. Our objective is to become one of the quality players on European level for the market of tents for scouting, events and glamping by 2021.

This new commercial branch will operate as a start-up within the ARS group and work autonomously from our offices in Ronse.

To support product development and the launch of the commercial activities, the company is looking for a technical and commercial project manager.


Technical aspects of the job

  • Map and evaluate (new) suppliers, products, materials, … for tents (frames, tent canvas, …).
  • Look for and evaluate opportunities to improve the product range, the product itself and the manufacturing process.
  • Be actively involved in the execution of these improvements. Act as point of contact for our manufacturing partner in Asia.


Commercial aspects of the job

  • Get to know and map the market, both through desk research and through client visits, supplier visits, expos, …
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to look for opportunities: opportunities in markets and sectors, opportunities to improve our product range, opportunities to approach our clients differently, …
  • Being actively involved in the launch and go to market of our products.


Background and profile

  • Interested in both the technical and commercial aspects of the job.
  • Technical background and/or experience in similar role.
  • Knowledge of or interest in the product and sector.
  • Good knowledge (oral and written) of English + Dutch and/or French.
  • Show initiative & can do mentality. We are looking for somebody who wants to get satisfaction out of his/her job.
  • Common sense: Background and education are important, however commercial acumen and intuition are equally so.
  • Wanting to and being able to work independently.
