The XPERT tent, also known as the High Performance Tent (HPT), was developed through a collaborative innovation project led by UNICEF, with input from operational partners and leading manufacturers like Alpinter. The development began in 2018 in response to the need for a more robust, climate-resilient, and modular shelter solution for humanitarian operations.
After a rigorous, multi-year design and testing process—including field trials in diverse environments—the XPERT tent was introduced as the next generation of emergency shelter. Since then, Alpinter has been a key partner in bringing this design to life and supplying the tents globally.
