B-Fast Delivers 10,000 Sleeping Bags to Assist Relief Efforts in Turkey
On Monday, February 6th, two major earthquakes and a series of aftershocks hit Turkey, Syria, and the neighboring regions. The earthquakes caused widespread destruction, resulting in over 11,000 fatalities, numerous injuries and significant damage to the region’s infrastructure. The quake was felt as far away as Cyprus and Lebanon, which are located approximately 250 miles from the epicenter near Gaziantep.
Emergency response teams have been working around the clock to provide assistance to those affected and search for survivors. Also
B-Fast, the Belgian First Aid and Support Team, has made a major contribution to relief efforts in Turkey and Syria by delivering nearly 10,000
sleeping bags. The shipment, consisting of 3 truckloads, was sent from Alpinter’s warehouse in Renaix to the Melsbroek military airport before being flown to Incirlik airport, located in southern Turkey.
This is only the beginning of B-Fast‘s efforts to support those affected by the vastly devastating earthquake in the region. The organisation is also preparing to send a large field hospital and additional medical teams to assist and support care staff on the ground.
At Alpinter, we have already mobilised our stocks in our various warehouses, are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to assist our partners in the coming hours and days. From production to warehousing and logistics, Alpinter is engineered for the unexpected.
